Who built this
Average Rent was built by Johnpaul Baric. I love building tools that empower individuals. When I was apartment hunting, I found it frustrating that real pricing data was locked behind leasing offices and outdated estimates. So I built a system that pulls it directly from the source, starting in Austin, TX, and expanding to cities across the US.
Our mission
Rent is the single biggest expense most people have, yet real pricing is almost impossible to find online. Most sites show estimates or cached data. Leasing offices quote different numbers depending on when you call. Average Rent exists to level the playing field by giving renters the same pricing data that property managers have, updated daily, unit by unit.
